Mother’s Day Brunch
Mother’s Day is right around the corner and nothing is more perfect for treating your mom than a Mother’s Day buffet brunch. Menu items include: classic breakfast, like an omelet station and waffle bar, seafood offerings like sushi and king crab legs, and carving stations serving New York strip sirloin and turkey breast. Tanner’s and Treehouse Lounge Cocktails
This May, Tanner’s Restaurant and Treehouse Lounge introduce a new craft cocktail menu.
Nicole’s Insider Knowledge: One of my favorite new features is the Sevilla Summer cocktail. It is a light and refreshing cocktail with Tanqueray Sevilla Orange gin and Fever Tree Citrus tonic. When mentioning cocktails at Tanner’s and Treehouse, the iconic Cucumber Delight must be included. A long-time menu feature, the Cucumber Delight is the definition of refreshing Summer-style cocktails. With Ketel Cucumber Vodka, Fever-tree Elderflower tonic, and fresh lemon juice, it’s so easy to drink in the sun. If neither of those are your speed, ask the Tanner’s and Treehouse bartenders to make a cocktail to fit your tastes. One I made recently is the English Garden Party. This cocktail features Botanist gin and Crème de Violette for a strong but floral and sweet flavor profile. Go and challenge the bartenders to make a cocktail you will love while relaxing with an amazing view!

Huntington Beach Bonfires
One of the best Summer activities available are the Huntington Beach bonfires. Spend your day like a local at the beach and at night roast hot dogs and s’mores off the fire. Guests staying at Paséa Hotel and Spa are a short walk away from the fire pits and can request beach chairs and towels through the front desk. Grab a bonfire pit and some wood and you are set for amazing night by the fire. Go early and reserve your pit, as they are first come, first serve, and you’re all set for a sunny day at the beach.
Whale Watching
May marks the perfect time between the seasons of Spring and Summer for some amazing Whale watching. May is the end of the Gray Whale migration and the beginning of the Blue whale migration. Gray whale mothers and babies have begun their long trek to Alaska from Mexico and are just passing off the coast of Huntington Beach. On the other hand, the 100-foot Blue whale bulls are heading south for feeding season and stop to eat off our coasts. Whales aren’t the only animals you will see on these tours, as it is also the time for the dolphin mega-pods that can reach sizes of up to 2,000 individual dolphins.
